Victorian Society for Computers & the Law
Anthony Corso, Assistant Commissioner, Data Protection, and Laurencia Dimelow, Senior Data Protection Advisor, from the Office of the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection will present a crash course on the newly issued Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) and Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS)
Questions to be addressed
The Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) provides an overall scheme for managing protective data security risks in the Victorian public sector. At the core of the framework are the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS), which set out 18 high level mandatory requirements to protect public sector data and provide for governance across four security domains: information, personnel, ICT and physical. Victorian public sector organisations have two years to develop a Security Risk Profile Assessment and a Protective Data Security Plan and to conduct a security self assessment which must be submitted to the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection.
